Thoughts on Blogging

My sincerest apologies for being “off the air” for so long with respect to blog updates.  It is quite interesting to me how our culture’s use and views of blogs (as well as my own) have changed in the 4-5 years it has been around.  Blogs are used for so many purposes everywhere now, instead of just the social interaction they more or less began with a few years back.

I’ve noticed the past 2 months that really what our site exists for is to provide information about us to our friends with whom we don’t communicate very often otherwise.  It mainly focuses on this goal, with sometimes a side note or two of some current event or happening which I have a desire to share.  I think what really keeps our site going the strongest though, is my hobby of having fun with computer/web related stuff.  As of late, I have had other things to keep me occupied, so I suppose the lack of updates isn’t all that surprising after all.

I guess this means I should cut some slack to those of you who read but don’t post much on your own blogs.  I can hardly blame you if what really keeps me doing it is my interest in playing with technology rather than on the actual posts themselves.  Meh.

On to the real updates…

Work has been really busy.   Tiffany is making bridesmaid dresses, which is complicated and sometimes stressful.  I’m sick of Ohio weather.  Why do we live in Ohio?  Just because we were born here and our parents live here doesn’t seem like that good of a reason anymore.  We should move somewhere warmer, or maybe to Europe.  If we’re going to freeze all winter, why not freeze in Europe instead?  It sounds like a good deal to me.  Well, except for the money change thing, that’s not so good right now.

Tiffany got a stone for her birthday that says “Peace be with you.”  That’s what Jesus used to say you know.

John McCain could marry my grandmother.

I bought a new keyboard.  It’s quite nice.  Now if only I could find someplace to actively use it in performance.  The music ministry at church has not been what I’d hoped.  This morning we sang a Twila Paris song from 1985.  Oh the things I do for good doctrine.

King’s Island might be turning around the backwards Racer this year to go forwards again.  Bleh.

Lost has been good.  I called the “Michael is on the boat” thing a mile away.  Note that Daniel the physics guy’s last name is “Faraday” and that the scary black guy who recruited Naomi is named “Abaddon.”

I really don’t care about March Madness.

Mike, I hope you’re feeling 100% again.  Nate and Michelle, we should get together again sometime soon.  Andy, I hope you stopped feeling guilty about voting earlier this month.  Christy, I hope you weren’t anywhere near that crane that fell down (Tangent too).  Chris, I’m sorry I haven’t emailed you back yet.  This week, I promise.  Gwen, I feel like I only see you about once a month at church.  Have you been busy lately?

Alrighty, peace out.

NP. Life happens.

My sickness is gone but when it rains it pours. I am having another medical issue and the heat in my car died. GRRRRRRRR. By the way, I am thinking heavily of moving to Orlando. Can you call me? I want to talk about it. Peace out yo!

I searched myself on google, found Andy’s name, and somehow ended up here. I didn’t know you had this site!

Good luck with the new keyboard!

Me…busy? Nah…unless you count being a fulltime student, being fulltime at work, teaching ESL, and trying to keep up with everything else in life…thank goodness for spring break! Happy Easter…and if you’ll be at church this week, I’ll see you then…

Thanks for thinking of me. I was NOT anywhere near that crane…I think I was out of town. But it still freaks me out that I could be walking anywhere in New York and something could just fall on me.
